HCS SCS SB 358 -- ELECTION EXPENDITURES

SPONSOR:  Shields (Brown)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Elections by a vote of 12 to 0.

This substitute requires that the annual general operating
expenditures for elections from the general revenue fund of
Platte County or any city in Platte County be subject to the
budgeting approval of the county governing body.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this will help the county
maintain control over expenditures for elections.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Brown for Senator
Shields.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
